Starting in 2024, the Plantation brand from Maison Ferrand will be renamed Planteray. This decision reflects the company's commitment to demonstrating sensitivity and respect for historical contexts, particularly concerning issues such as racial equality, equity, and diversity.

The name change aims to make the brand image more modern and cosmopolitan. "Planteray" combines "Plant" for sugarcane and "Ray" for sunbeams that support sugarcane growth, thereby intending to create a positive association without historical burdens. Despite the name change, the taste and production process of the rums remain unchanged.

The Planteray Rum PANAMA is distilled from molasses at the Don José Distillery and initially matures for several years in Bourbon casks (200 l) in its country of origin. At MAISON FERRAND, it receives an additional finish in Ferrand casks (350 l) and finally ages for 1 year in Marsala casks, which imparts unique, fruity notes.
