The Planteray Rum FIJI 2019 Coffee Liqueur Cask Finish is an exceptional single cask bottling from Fiji, part of the Planteray Single Casks Premium 2024 Collection. The rum was produced by the Rum Co. of Fiji using molasses, which was first fermented for a period of four to five days and then distilled in a column still. The distillate dates from the 2019 vintage and subsequently underwent a multi-stage maturation process. It was first aged for four years in bourbon casks under tropical conditions on the Fiji Islands. This was followed by Planteray’s characteristic continental finishing in France, where the rum spent a further five months in Ferrand casks.


The Planteray Fiji 2019 Single Cask derives its distinctive character from a final seven-month finish in a coffee liqueur cask. This unusual choice of cask complements the matured Fiji rum with pronounced coffee, cocoa and roasted aromas, as well as additional sweet and spicy notes. The producer states an ester content of 68 g/hl AA and a total of 214 g/hl AA of volatile components. This special edition is bottled at 45.4% in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. The combination of the 2019 vintage, tropical bourbon cask maturation, Ferrand casks and a coffee liqueur cask finish makes this limited-edition Planteray release particularly appealing to connoisseurs of experimental cask maturations and characterful Fijian rums.
