Douglas Laing has updated the name of their well-known Island Blended Malt bottling from 'Rock Oyster' to 'Rock Island,' without changing the award-winning contents. Rock Island combines selected single malts from the Scottish islands of Islay, Arran, Jura, and Orkney, giving it characteristic smoky notes, sweetness, and maritime aromas. As part of the Remarkable Regional Malts series, Rock Island symbolizes the diversity and quality of Scotland's malt whisky regions.

In recognition of the essential role of wood in whisky production, especially for the Chinese Year of the Wood Dragon 2024, Rock Island presents a special edition that was matured in carefully selected, heavily charred "crocodile casks." This treatment allows the Year of the Dragon Edition to absorb a variety of rich flavors from the deep charring of the wood, giving the creation exceptional depth of taste.

This whisky is bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.8%, deliberately without the addition of coloring or chill filtration.
