Plantation Rums have long ceased to be an insider tip. The excellent rums are mainly collected in the Caribbean and also in South America and then brought to France, where they receive their final touch. In Ars, France, the rum is subsequently stored for several months in small, discarded oak cognac barrels. This type of maturation is called "Double Ageing", a technique that was already used in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Plantation Single Cask Rums are exclusive, limited edition rums that undergo a unique, two-stage maturation process. First, they mature in the tropics in bourbon casks and are then further refined in Ferrand casks at Château de Bonbonnet in France. An additional maturation phase in specially selected beer, wine, or spirits casks emphasizes their unique characteristics. Each bottle of these rare rums is personalized and numbered, with only a small number of casks bottled annually, making them particularly desirable for collectors.

Plantation Rum Barbados Very Special Old is produced using an elaborate process that includes both pot and column still distillation, starting from molasses as the base material. The fermentation of this premium rum takes between three to four days, laying the foundation for its characteristic taste. The main maturation period is four years, during which the rum is stored in selected Bourbon barrels. It then undergoes further maturation for another year in Ferrand barrels before the rum receives its finish for four months in Port wine barrels, which gives it an additional dimension of taste and depth.
