The Hennessy distillery, located in Cognac, France, was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy. Today, the company is managed by the eighth generation of the Hennessy family. Richard Hennessy, an officer who immigrated from Ireland, founded "Jas Hennessy & Co", laying the groundwork for the company's development into an internationally recognized Cognac producer.
Hennessy exclusively uses grapes grown in the Cognac region for its Cognac production.
After a double distillation in copper stills, the eaux-de-vie is created, which forms the basis for all the house's Cognac variations.
The Hennessy V.S.O.P, a blend of more than 60 different eaux-de-vie, is known for its balanced harmony.
The designation V.S.O.P (Very Superior Old Pale) signifies the Cognac's age and high quality.
