Tomintoul Distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

At an altitude of 370 meters above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland's second-highest distillery, surpassed only by Braeval Distillery, which was founded in 1973. Although most of the 3.2 million liters of alcohol produced annually is exported to the United States for blends, Tomintoul consistently releases special single cask bottlings.

The Tomintoul Amarone Cask Finish is known for its smooth and approachable whiskies. It initially matures in classic American bourbon oak casks before being finished for another two years in fine Amarone wine casks from Italy. This special finishing process gives it a harmonious balance, where fruity aromas meet gentle, warming spice notes, creating a complex taste experience.
