The Tomintoul distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

At an elevation of 370 meters above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland's second-highest distillery, surpassed only by the Braeval Distillery, which was established in 1973. Although the majority of the 3.2 million liters of alcohol produced annually is exported to the United States for blends, Tomintoul consistently releases special single cask bottlings.

The Tomintoul Tempranillo Cask Finish is a smooth and flavorful whisky that is first matured in classic American bourbon oak casks before being finished in casks that previously held Spain's most important red grape variety, the dark-fruited Tempranillo. The result is a harmonious whisky with intense aromas of strawberry jam, complemented by subtle roasted notes that add additional depth and complexity to the flavor.
