The name "Mac Na Mara", which means "Son of the Sea" in Gaelic, refers to the rich maritime tradition of the Scottish Hebrides, which for centuries were closely connected to the Celtic Sea Kingdom. This kingdom dominated the important shipping routes, stretching from the Isle of Man to the Isle of Lewis, from the Middle Ages until the 16th century. This historical significance is reflected in the origin and character of MacNaMara.
The MacNaMara Rum Finish Blended Whisky was carefully selected and perfected after traditional maturation in bourbon casks by finishing in rum casks. This double maturation gives the limited edition whisky a special complexity and adds a harmonious, pleasant sweetness that makes its aroma even more multifaceted and balanced.
