The Albert Michler Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, producing high-quality spirits and liqueurs. The company was founded in 1863 in Silesia, Czech Republic, and has since established itself as one of Europe’s leading producers of fine spirits. The name ‘Austrian Empire Navy Rum Novara’ derives from a scientific expedition by the Austrian Empire Navy aboard the frigate ‘Novara’, which took place between 1857 and 1859 under the command of Commodore Bernhard von Wullerstorf-Urbair. This first expedition of its kind was initiated and financed by Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian.

Austrian Empire Navy Rum Novara is a premium blend comprising rums that have been matured in oak casks for between 5 and 8 years. What makes this blend special is that the rums originate from three oceans: the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Indian Ocean. This unique blend combines rums from Mauritius, Venezuela, Indonesia and the Philippines, resulting in a rich, complex yet smooth flavour profile.
