The 50-hectare Alois Lageder winery, located in Magrè, South Tyrol, is characterized by a close connection to nature and a strong awareness of sustainability, which is reflected both in the life at the winery and in the quality of the wines. In addition, an engagement with contemporary art is an integral part of the winery's philosophy. Chemical-synthetic pesticides, insecticides, and mineral fertilizers are consistently avoided; instead, Alois Lageder relies on preparations, homeopathic teas, and compost as natural fertilizers.

The winery's "Nachlass-Klassiker" (estate classics) demonstrate the diversity of South Tyrolean viticulture by highlighting the wide selection of grape varieties. Both white and red wines are predominantly made from grapes from trusted winemakers, whose selection is based on their specific varietal suitability in the winery's vineyards. The long-standing collaboration with these winemakers makes it possible to achieve and share all quality goals.

Alois Lageder Lagrein is made 100% from Lagrein grapes grown in the wine-growing regions of Bolzano, Ora, and Magrè. The vines thrive on deep alluvial soils and calcareous soils, which offer optimal growing conditions. Malolactic fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel and partly in concrete tanks over a period of approximately 12 months. Subsequently, mash fermentation is carried out in stainless steel. After maturation, bottling takes place, with the bottles sealed with a natural cork.

The red wine has a drinking potential of about 6 years, during which its aromas harmoniously develop and offer a fascinating taste experience.
