The Loch Lomond Distillery was first established in 1814 on the northern shore of Loch Lomond near Tarbet. However, the current facility was founded in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill Distillery, located a few miles from Glasgow.

Since 2014, the distillery has been under the leadership of Master Blender Michael Henry, whose passion for distilling and brewing whisky is deeply rooted in his experiences near distilleries. With his expertise, he significantly shapes the production and profile of Loch Lomond whiskies.

The Loch Lomond 12 Years Old Madeira Cask Whisky was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024. It spent most of its maturation in refill bourbon barrels before receiving a 6 to 12-month finish in first-fill Madeira casks. This final refinement gave it additional complexity and depth. It is an unpeated whisky, produced without peat smoke. The bottling is limited to 205 bottles and is done at natural cask strength with an alcohol content of 55.3% Vol.
