Rhum J.M Très Vieux Rhum Agricole X.O comes from Martinique and embodies the time-honoured tradition of producing rhum agricole from fresh sugarcane juice. The history of Rhum J.M dates back to the mid-19th century, whilst sugarcane cultivation on the estate has an even longer tradition. Unlike classic molasses-based rum, this Rhum Agricole is produced directly from freshly extracted sugar cane juice, meaning that its origin and raw material play a particularly central role. Production at Rhum J.M takes place in comparatively small batches and is closely linked to the terroir of northern Martinique. As an AOC Martinique Rhum Agricole, its production is subject to clearly defined requirements regarding origin, raw materials and production methods.

For Rhum J.M X.O, selected distillates are matured for a period of at least six years, during which they are aged in ex-Bourbon casks made from American oak. As a ‘Très Vieux Rhum Agricole’ or ‘Rhum Hors d’Âge’, this bottling combines the intense characteristics of sugar cane with the long-term influence of cask maturation. Rhum J.M Très Vieux X.O is bottled at 45% alcohol by volume in a 0.7-litre bottle. The quality of this bottling has also been recognised internationally, including a gold medal and ‘Best of Show’ at the 2014 German Rum Festival in Berlin, as well as gold medals at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
