The Hearach is the second single malt whisky from the Isle of Harris Distillery, which had previously gained international recognition for its Isle of Harris Gin. For both the production of the gin and the whisky, the distillery places great emphasis on traditional craftsmanship, carried out with great care by a young team of local distillers. From the initial nosing to the manual operation of the steam valves, every step is executed with dedication and precision.

The soft water used for The Hearach comes from the Abhainn Cnoc a' Charrain stream, fed by rainwater and flowing over some of the oldest rocks on Earth. This water, which has an exceptionally low mineral content, contributes significantly to the quality of the whisky. Additionally, the oceanic climate of the Isle of Harris, influenced by the Gulf Stream, ensures stable temperatures that positively impact the maturation process.

For the latest bottling, only 100% carefully selected Oloroso sherry casks from the renowned Bodega José y Miguel Martin in Andalusia were used, which gives the whisky its particular depth and complexity.
