This series highlights the crucial role that cask selection plays in the natural colouring and distinctive character of the whiskies.


Only oak casks previously seasoned with sherry wine from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, are used for The Macallan Colour Collection 18 Years Old. Over 18 years of maturation, the perfect combination of American and European oak develops multi-layered aromas: fresh lemon citrus notes and vanilla come from American oak, while European oak provides depth and spice with dried fruit, spices, and orange citrus. Additionally, accents of almonds, toffee, and a hint of sherry spice give the whisky its unmistakable profile. Bottled at 43% Vol., with natural colour and without chill-filtration, it presents an elegant, chestnut-brown colour derived exclusively from cask maturation.

The artistic design of the gift box comes from David Carson, who captures the warmth of the evening sun shining over the roofs of the bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera – an emblem of The Macallan's close connection to the region where its casks are seasoned.
