The Hillinger Small Hill Red 2022 is a wonderfully balanced and smooth red wine cuvée from Burgenland, impressively bearing the signature of the renowned Austrian winemaker Leo Hillinger. This carefully composed cuvée consists of 50% Merlot, 25% Pinot Noir, and 25% St. Laurent – three grape varieties that complement each other in perfect harmony, lending the wine elegance, structure, and depth.


The grapes originate from the best sites around Jois in northern Burgenland, where the Pannonian climate with warm days and cool nights provides optimal ripening conditions. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, a small portion (about 10%) is aged in used barriques to give the wine additional roundness and delicate roasted aromas. The result is a dry, velvety red wine with youthful fruit, soft tannins, and a harmonious balance.
