The maturation process takes place in several stages and ensures a multifaceted aroma profile. First, the rum is aged for six years in ex-Bourbon casks in its country of origin, Barbados. The distillate is then transferred to ex-sherry casks and subsequently further aged in ex-Banyuls wine casks, where a Solera maturation of approximately four years takes place. This combination of Caribbean rum tradition and Spanish and French cask culture creates a unique balance of fruit, spice, and elegant sweetness.
