The Salzl Blaufränkisch 2023 is a distinctive, elegant red wine from Burgenland, perfectly embodying the signature style of the Salzl Seewinkelhof winery. It is vinified as a single varietal from 100% Blaufränkisch – the grape variety considered the flagship of Austrian red wine. The grapes thrive on loess-like Chernozem soils of sandy loam with a high gravel content, ensuring optimal drainage and mineral depth. This terroir in Seewinkel produces wines that are powerful, precise, and elegant all at once.


The vinification follows a classic method: traditional mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 30 °C with a maceration period of 14 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. Subsequently, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks to preserve its freshness and fruit. The result is an Austrian quality wine that displays the unmistakable fruit and spice of Blaufränkisch in its pure, unadulterated form.
