El Recuerdo de Oaxaca Mezcal Joven is a traditionally produced mezcal from Oaxaca, Mexico, made from 100 per cent Agave angustifolia, better known as Espadín agave. As a Mezcal Joven, it does not undergo extended barrel ageing, thereby highlighting the agave’s original character and the production methods typical of mezcal. The bottling bears the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and reflects a regional tradition whose roots stretch back to the 16th century. El Recuerdo de Oaxaca sees this edition as an expression of Oaxaca’s origins, character and artisanal heritage. This variant is deliberately bottled without the agave worm, ensuring the focus remains entirely on the distillate and its classic mezcal profile.
