The Port Charlotte 18 Years Old Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2025 51.5% Vol. 0.7 L is an outstanding masterpiece from the Bruichladdich Distillery on the Scottish island of Islay – a limited edition bottling that presents Port Charlotte’s uncompromising craftsmanship and characteristic smoke signature in its most perfected form.


This heavily peated single malt is made from heavily peated barley malt and embodies the perfect balance of intense smokiness, cask complexity, and elegantly matured depth. The whisky matured for over 18 years in a fascinating combination of first-fill Bourbon casks (53%) and second-fill Sherry casks (31%). Another, particularly interesting component (16%) was initially stored for 11 years in Sherry casks, then transferred to Virgin French Oak for approximately five years, and finally re-casked into second-fill Bourbon casks. This elaborate maturation structure gives the whisky its extraordinary depth, texture, and complexity before all cask components were carefully blended.


With an alcohol content of 51.5% Vol., this Port Charlotte 18 Years Old reveals itself as an intense, full-bodied, yet harmonious single malt. It is non-chill filtered and bottled without coloring to preserve its natural color – golden syrup – and its unadulterated character. The combination of robust peat smoke, noble wood, and typical Bruichladdich finesse makes it one of the most significant Islay whiskies of its generation.
