The Gaja Sperss Barolo DOP 2020, with 14% ABV in a 0.75-liter bottle, is an iconic Barolo from the heart of Piedmont, bearing the distinctive signature of Angelo Gaja – one of Italy's most significant winemakers. It originates from the Langhe wine region, specifically from the Serralunga d'Alba site, known for powerful, structured, and long-lasting Barolos. The wine is made exclusively from the noble Nebbiolo grape variety and impressively demonstrates how Gaja combines tradition and modern winemaking to achieve perfect harmony.


The vines are deeply rooted in soils of marl, clay, and limestone, which give the wine its distinctive minerality and depth. After a maceration in steel tanks – one week at 28 °C and another two weeks at 17 °C – the Gaja Sperss 2020 first matures for 12 months in barriques before being aged for another 12 months in large oak barrels. This two-stage maturation ensures complexity, elegance, and perfectly integrated tannins. With an aging potential until 2036, this Barolo possesses exceptional longevity and is one of the great classics from Gaja – powerful, precise, and timeless in its expressiveness.
