The Salzl Pannoterra 2020 is one of Weingut Salzl Seewinkelhof's most powerful red wine interpretations, impressively reflecting Burgenland's deeply rooted winemaking culture. The grapes grow on diverse soil structures, including loess-like chernozem, sandy loam with a high gravel content, and black earth with a gravel component, which offers the grape varieties ideal conditions for structure, concentration, and complexity. Vinification includes traditional mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 30 °C, a maceration period of 14 days, and malolactic fermentation. The subsequent aging takes place over 12 months in small oak barrels, entirely in new wood, which gives the wine its striking depth and elegant barrel character. The recommended serving temperature is 16–18 °C, and the drinking maturity extends from 2024 to 2034 under optimal storage conditions.
