The Salzl Zweigelt Reserve 2022 14% vol. 0.75 l is an Austrian red wine from Burgenland full of character, which shows the expressiveness of the Zweigelt grape variety in a particularly elegant and structured form. This high-quality Zweigelt Reserve is produced by the renowned Salzl Seewinkelhof winery, which is known for its precisely vinified red wines from the Seewinkel region. This Burgenland red wine combines intense fruit, fine flavour and a balanced structure and is exemplary of modern Austrian Zweigelt wines.


The grapes come from vines that grow on Paratschernosem soils of loamy sand with a high gravel content, which gives the wine a fine minerality and depth. Vinification is carried out using traditional mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks at around 30 °C with a maceration period of around 14 days, allowing the colour, aroma and tannins to be optimally extracted. This is followed by malolactic fermentation before the wine matures for 12 months in small oak barrels. This maturation gives the Zweigelt Reserve additional complexity, fine roasted flavours and a harmonious structure. Bottled in August 2025, the wine has a storage potential from around 2025 to 2034 and develops additional depth and elegance over the years.
