R. Jelínek Absinthe TROPICAL combines traditional absinthe production with a modern, exotic twist. It is produced by the long-established Czech distillery R. Jelínek and is based on the same herbal blend as R. Jelínek Premium Absinthe. The recipe begins with the maceration of primarily wormwood and aniseed, which form the classic herbal foundation. The macerate is then distilled in special copper stills. In this way, Tropical Absinthe retains the typical herbal profile of a classic absinthe, whilst the addition of lychee lends it a distinctly fruitier and more contemporary character. The producer aptly describes the concept as a fusion of ‘classic absinthe’ and ‘tropical soul’.

With a robust 55 per cent ABV in the 0.7-litre bottle, R. Jelínek Tropical Absinthe possesses the intensity characteristic of this type of spirit, whilst the lychee provides a juicy, floral and tropical contrast to the tart herbal base.
