The Platzer Sauvignon Blanc Ried Aunberg Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2025, 13% vol., in a 0.75-litre bottle, is a characterful Austrian white wine from the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC region, which impressively reflects the distinctive characteristics of its origin. The grapes come from the Ried Aunberg, whose vineyards lie at altitudes of 280 to 320 metres above sea level on sun-drenched south-east and south-west facing slopes. The Platzer Winery is one of the most renowned estates in Styria’s Vulkanland region and combines regional tradition with precise winemaking techniques. After a 12-hour maceration period, the must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for an extended period, which adds further complexity and body. The 2025 vintage is powerful, precise and, at the same time, elegant.
