The Cà dei Frati Brolettino Lugana Privilegio di Famiglia DOC 2020 13.5% is a matured special edition of the renowned Lugana DOC from Lake Garda, which showcases the ageing potential of the indigenous Turbiana grape variety. This dry Italian white wine is made from 100 per cent Turbiana; the grapes are harvested at full ripeness around mid-October and come from limestone and clay-rich soils. Vinification begins in stainless steel tanks and continues in barriques, with malolactic fermentation also taking place in the barriques. The wine is then aged for 10 months in barriques.

What sets the Privilegio di Famiglia edition apart is the subsequent five-year bottle ageing, during which the Brolettino develops into a complex, structured and mature Lugana. The combination of 100 per cent Turbiana, barrique ageing and five years’ bottle ageing gives the 2020 vintage a character that is distinctly different from that of a young Lugana. Presented in a 0.75 l bottle and wooden box, the Cà dei Frati Brolettino Privilegio di Famiglia 2020 is also ideal as a high-quality wine gift or for connoisseurs of mature Italian white wines.
