Description
The Frauwallner Sauvignon Blanc Straden Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2025 12.5% is a characterful local Sauvignon Blanc from Straden, which perfectly expresses the distinctive character of the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC region. The Frauwallner winery is one of the leading estates in the region around Straden, where volcanic soils have a decisive influence on the style of the wines. In the case of Sauvignon Blanc in particular, the pronounced varietal character combines with a distinctive basalt minerality, which lends the wine additional depth and complexity. Subtle oak ageing complements the structure without overshadowing the wine’s fresh and terroir-driven character.
In the 0.75-litre bottle, the Frauwallner Sauvignon Blanc Straden 2025 reveals itself as a dry, precise and exceptionally easy-drinking Styrian Sauvignon Blanc. The combination of crisp acidity, mineral character and a finely balanced touch of oak provides structure and a remarkably smooth drinking experience. The vintage also has good ageing potential: the optimal drinking window is given as 2026 to 2031. This makes the Sauvignon Blanc Straden Vulkanland Steiermark DAC suitable both for immediate enjoyment and for a few years’ bottle ageing.
