Description
Description
The Portia Crianza Ribera del Duero 2023 15% is a full-bodied Spanish red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero, one of the renowned red wine regions of Castile and León. It is produced by Bodegas Portia in Gumiel de Izán, in the province of Burgos, and is based on Tempranillo, one of the defining grape varieties of Ribera del Duero. The winery belongs to the Martínez Zabala family and combines modern winemaking techniques with the region’s distinctive terroir. For the Portia Crianza, the winery allows the wine to age for at least twelve months in oak barrels. This gives the wine additional structure and depth, whilst preserving the typical character of Tempranillo.
With an alcohol content of 15% in the 0.75-litre bottle, the 2023 vintage is a full-bodied Crianza from Ribera del Duero, particularly recommended as an accompaniment to hearty dishes. The combination of Tempranillo, at least twelve months’ barrel ageing and the D.O. Ribera del Duero makes it an interesting choice for lovers of structured Spanish red wines. Bodegas Portia is also renowned for its extraordinary winery, designed by Foster + Partners, which blends seamlessly into the vineyard landscape of Ribera del Duero. The Portia Crianza 2023 thus combines a traditional Spanish grape variety with the modern approach of a winery specialising in Ribera del Duero.
