Fasol Menin Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Leonte Extra Dry DOCG 11% is an elegant Italian sparkling wine from Veneto, made from 100% Glera. The grapes come from the hilly vineyards of Valdobbiadene within the renowned Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG region. The vines grow at an altitude of around 200 to 250 metres above sea level on loose, nutrient-poor moraine soils and are predominantly south-facing. The harvest takes place in September. Following gentle pneumatic pressing, the must is clarified and then fermented at a controlled temperature using selected yeasts. Before being turned into sparkling wine, the base wine is left to rest for several months in stainless steel tanks.


The second fermentation of Leonte Extra Dry takes place using the Charmat method for around 30 days in a pressure tank. This preserves the fresh and approachable character typical of Glera. With 11% alcohol by volume in the 0.75-litre bottle and a residual sugar content typical of an ‘Extra Dry’, this Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore combines a noticeable yet balanced sweetness with lively acidity. The winery also states that Leonte has a total acidity of 5.8 g/l. The combination of 100 per cent Glera, DOCG designation, the Extra Dry style and the Charmat method makes this Prosecco a versatile sparkling wine, ideal as an aperitif, to accompany meals and for festive occasions.
