For this blend, around 40 different eaux-de-vie are blended together, selected for their lively and fresh character. The distillates are aged in French oak casks, with contact with the wood shaping their structure, spice and characteristic vanilla and toasted aromas. This careful blending results in a French cognac with a balanced combination of power and finesse. Hennessy was founded as early as 1765 by Richard Hennessy and is based in Cognac in the Charente, one of the most important regions for high-quality brandies.

Hennessy V.S Cognac 40% embodies a lively, straightforward style, in which fruity notes meet spicy and woody accents. The blend combines different eaux-de-vie to create a consistent house style, showcasing both youthful freshness and the influence of barrel ageing. The cognac is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume in a 0.7-litre bottle. Thanks to its robust yet approachable profile, Hennessy Very Special is highly versatile and, as well as being enjoyed neat, is particularly well-suited to cognac cocktails and long drinks.
