Between orchards and vineyards lies the long-established distillery of Hödl Hof.

The quality of the brandies is ensured by a 300-liter rough distillation still and a 200-liter fine distillation still, both made of pure copper.

The estate's own fruits travel the shortest route from the orchards to the fermentation cellars, where they are gently and temperature-controlled fermented. For generations, distillation has been carried out twice according to old Styrian tradition.

Only the high-proof heart of the distillate is extracted and then matured in wood, glass, or stainless steel.

The red cones of the stone pine are harvested in June, then finely chopped at Hödl Hof and covered with a mixture of grain, apple distillate, and a stone pine spirit, and matured for several weeks.

For weeks, Hödl Hof smells of resinous stone pines, as if they were in the middle of an alpine pasture.

The stone pines used come from stone pine farmers from Obdach, in Upper Styria.
