Description
The company founder Don Andrés Brugal Montaner left his home country Spain to seek his fortune in the Caribbean. After learning the craft of rum production in Cuba, he moved to the Dominican Republic, specifically Puerto Plata, around 1855. The rums of the Brugal company are still aged in this city today. After a few years, he developed his own production process there, which ensures consistent quality of the rums. This process remains a closely guarded secret to this day, passed down from generation to generation.
This dark rum is aged in oak barrels for 5 to 8 years. Its aroma is reminiscent of coconut and burnt crème brûlée.
