The traditional recipe dates back to Brother Blasius, a monk from the Monastery of the Grey Monks in Neuberg in the Mürztal valley, who possessed deep knowledge of the healing power of local plants more than 400 years ago. Today, his name stands for a bitter that combines knowledge, closeness to nature, and traditional herbal artistry.

This herbal bitter is produced by Austrian Brands GmbH, which has been manufacturing high-quality spirits in southern Burgenland since 1978. Originally specializing in regional fruit brandies, the product range today also includes fine liqueurs and bitter specialties.
