The blend consists of carefully selected small batch grain whiskeys and single Irish pot still whiskeys. This whiskey is made particularly unique by its maturation in a mixture of American sherry casks and double-charred oak casks.

The charring of the oak casks both before and after bourbon storage provides the typical strong notes that give the whiskey a special depth. This "Black Barrel" technique brings out aromas of caramel, toffee, vanilla, and toasted spices, which are created by the caramelized residues in the wood.
