Description
Description
The house was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot and has since specialized in the production of champagne, with a focus on the Pinot Noir grape. After the death of her husband Francois Clicquot just two years after their marriage, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin took over the management of the company in 1810. In 1986, Veuve Clicquot merged with Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy. Currently, Jacques Peters is the company's Chef de Cave. Veuve Clicquot's motto, then as now, is: "Only one quality – the finest."
This cuvée consists of 50-55% Pinot Noir, 28-33% Chardonnay, and 15-20% Meunier. The dominant grape variety gives this champagne power and structure, while Chardonnay lends it elegance, freshness, and delicacy. The touch of Meunier enhances the magnificent fruity nuances.
The reserve wines contribute 30 to 45% to the blend, depending on the vintage. These come from up to 6 different harvests and are stored in individual containers per grape variety, per cru, and per vintage.
This Yellow Label matures for 12 months in wooden barrels, which leads to the unique roundness of the Champagne. The champagne is bottled with a natural cork and has a storage potential of around 3 years.
