DAS PHANTOM 2023 is the legendary signature wine from K+K Kirnbauer in Mittelburgenland – a red wine with cult status that has been one of Austria's style-defining cuvées for decades. The 2023 vintage consists of a finely tuned composition of 44% Blaufränkisch, 23% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Syrah. The vines are rooted in heavy clay and sandy loam soils, which gives the wine its depth, power, and spice.

After temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the young wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barriques, followed by an 18-month aging period in 225-liter French oak barriques. This phase gives the wine its polished tannin structure, fine roasted aromas, and a complex aroma profile with depth. The wine was bottled in March 2024 and is already ready to drink, but has aging potential until at least 2041, during which it will continue to gain in finesse and expression.
