The Polz Urbani Steiermark 2018 is an elegant, finely structured red wine cuvée from Southern Styria, impressively reflecting the high quality consciousness and winemaking artistry of the renowned Polz winery. This cuvée, consisting of 50% Zweigelt, 25% Blaufränkisch, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, originates exclusively from the best Styrian vineyards, with vines ranging from 12 to 25 years old. These deep-rooted vines, growing in lean, mineral-rich soils of shell limestone and clay, can develop the complexity that defines the unmistakable character of this wine.


Vinification is carried out with the utmost care: After classic mash fermentation, the wine matures for 30 months in used barrique barrels, gaining depth, structure, and balance without the wood overpowering the fruit. With an alcohol content of 12.5% Vol., the Polz Urbani presents itself as elegant, fresh, and expressive simultaneously – a red wine that focuses on finesse and drinking pleasure rather than sheer power. The recommended serving temperature is 14–16 °C, and it reaches its optimal drinking maturity around 2026.
